Set in the middle
of Phang Nga Bay, Koh Yao consists of two large islands,
Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, surrounded by many smaller
islands. Yao Noi is covered by forests with a large variety
of birds, monkeys, monitor lizards, barking deer as well
as very colorful insect life.
From the coast line with nicely shaped beaches and
rocky headlands one can enjoy spectacular views of the
surrounding limestone formations that are characteristic to
Phang Nga Bay.
Koh Yao Noi is the most populated of the
two islands with quiet and picturesque fishing villages and Ta
Khai, a small town with minimal source of supplies. |
